Charlotte Explorer Week combines the best of summer camp—creative, spontaneous play and hands-on activities—with the sights and sounds of the city. Campers are on the move, exploring historic and cultural sites, natural spaces, buildings and waterways.
Have you ever wanted to be an adventurer and explore really cool places in the city?
What You Will Do
Each day we will meet at our camp base in Plaza Midwood.
We will then set out in our groups to explore the city.
Our groups will visit a variety of locations such as Discovery Place, Bank of America Stadium, and the UNCC Botanical Gardens.
We are also going to spend Monday, August 21 on a trip to South Carolina to see "The Great American Solar Eclipse".
Through hands on activities and adventures campers will spend their last week before school seeing a new side to the city.
Spend A Week Exploring The Queen City
Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. People are coming from all over North Carolina, the country and the world which is rapidly changing the makeup of the city. We will spend a week exploring unique, fun and interesting Charlotte cultural locations. History, sports, museums, business, arts… Charlotte’s got a lot.
Our overarching goal is to help kids be in the world. We do this everyday through engaging hands on activities, exciting explorations and by providing opportunities for children to be autonomous, develop mastery, and develop meaningful social relationships with adults and their peers.
Each camper will discover a new place, expand their knowledge on a passion, and they will gain the confidence to navigate Charlotte.
